  • Rewriting the Script: From Familiarity to Freedom

For a long time, I lived in a story that felt familiar. I grew up around loud voices and “bellyaching,” and because that was what I knew, it felt like a safe place to stay. I spent years as a “people-pleaser,” trying to prove my worth to fill a lack I felt as a child.

But I am opening my eyes now. I realize that we aren’t “unlucky,” and I am not here to blame anyone—not the people from my past, and not the people in my life now. We simply repeat the stories we know until we realize we hold the pen.

As a Relief Chef Manager, I am a leader who travels and builds. I have learned that my high standards belong to me, and I am the one who keeps them. I am addressing my own “programming” so I can stop the behaviors that create trauma. This journey isn’t about pointing fingers; it’s about the freedom of self.

A “self” is always becoming. Like a snake shedding its skin, I am letting go of the old scripts to make room for a life that is peaceful, mindful, and stable. Every day is a gift when you are finally fulfilling your own needs and living in your own light.
